Spark™ Clear Aligners for Children and Teens in Apex

What Are Spark™ Clear Aligners?

Spark™ Clear Aligners use a sequence of custom, removable trays to move teeth according to an orthodontist’s treatment plan. At Green Level Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics in Apex, families can explore whether Spark™ fits their child’s or teen’s smile goals and orthodontic needs.

Made with TruGEN™ material, Spark™ aligners have smooth, scalloped edges and a discreet appearance. The trays come out for eating and oral hygiene. Suitability depends on dental development, bite alignment, and the patient’s readiness to follow a daily wear routine.

Benefits of Spark™ Clear Aligners

Easy Everyday Care

Spark™ trays can be removed for meals, brushing, and flossing. Families can keep familiar oral care routines while helping their child build consistent aligner habits.

A Discreet Smile Journey

Spark™’s clear trays offer a subtle appearance for school, photos, and everyday activities. Their design gives teens an option to discuss when appearance matters to them.

A Plan for Your Smile

A digital scan helps the orthodontist create a personalized Spark™ plan. Your family can discuss the proposed tooth movements, treatment goals, and expected responsibilities before starting.

Spark™ Care at Green Level Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics

  • Planning for growing smiles: We consider tooth eruption, jaw development, and daily routines when evaluating Spark™ for a child or teen.
  • Support for the whole smile: Pediatric dental and orthodontic care help families keep oral health in focus throughout the Spark™ treatment journey.
  • Clear guidance for families: Discuss candidacy, wear expectations, follow-up visits, and alternatives so you can make an informed treatment decision.

Your Spark™ Clear Aligner Journey

Consultation and Scan

Start with an examination of your child’s teeth, bite, and dental development. Diagnostic records and a digital scan help the orthodontist assess Spark™ candidacy and plan care.

Custom Trays and Daily Wear

Once the Spark™ plan is approved, custom trays are made. At the fitting visit, your family receives instructions for wearing, removing, cleaning, and changing the aligners.

Follow-Up and Retainers

Regular visits help the orthodontist check Spark™ tray fit and treatment progress. Additional trays may be needed, and a retainer plan follows active treatment to help protect the result.

“My kids have been going to this practice since they were toddlers, and having one doctor who understands their complete dental history and growth patterns has made such a difference. Dr. Kim treats them like they’re his own children and recommends only what’s truly necessary. The convenience of having both their regular checkups and orthodontics in one place has been a game-changer for our family.”

“What impressed me most was how honest the doctor is about treatment recommendations. He explained exactly why each step was needed and never pushed unnecessary procedures. Having someone I trust completely managing both my kids’ dental and orthodontic care gives me peace of mind. The staff is incredibly kind and patient with nervous children.”

“We switched practices specifically because we wanted someone who could handle both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics under one roof. The continuity of care is amazing, and our kids actually look forward to their appointments. The whole team treats every patient like family, and the clinical expertise is evident in every interaction.”

Six Things to Know About Spark™ Treatment

What makes Spark™ Clear Aligners different?

Spark™ is Ormco’s clear aligner system, with TruGEN™ material and digital planning tools. It is a distinct brand from Invisalign®. Your orthodontist can explain how the system’s features relate to your child’s treatment needs.

Is my child a candidate for Spark™?

An orthodontic evaluation is the best starting point. Spark™ options include treatment for teens and Spark™ Junior for growing children. The orthodontist will assess your child’s stage of development, bite, oral health, and readiness for removable trays before recommending a plan.

How long should Spark™ aligners be worn each day?

Spark™’s general guidance is 22 hours daily, including sleep; Spark™ Junior guidance calls for at least 20 hours. Follow the orthodontist’s instructions for your child’s specific treatment, and remove trays for meals and oral hygiene as directed.

When should my child change Spark™ trays?

Spark™ trays are commonly changed every one to two weeks. Your child’s prescribed schedule may differ. Change trays only as instructed and contact the practice if an aligner is lost, damaged, or does not fit.

Can my child eat with Spark™ aligners in?

Remove Spark™ trays for meals and snacks and follow your orthodontist’s guidance about drinks. Keep the trays in their case, clean teeth after eating, and reinsert them promptly to stay on track with daily wear.

Will my child need retainers after Spark™?

Retainers are an important part of maintaining the result after Spark™ treatment. The orthodontist will recommend the retainer type, wear schedule, and follow-up care based on your child’s smile and continuing development.
